LIMITED COMPANIES

Limited companies have a separate legal identity to their owners and so are taxed differently.  They are also obliged to prepare and submit accounts to Companies House. 

These accounts have to be in a prescribed format and be in accordance with Companies Law. 

These have to be filed with Companies House normally within 10 months of the period end.

Many of the rules that govern the accounts of ICI or BP will apply to the small one-man-band companies.  There will be fewer pages, fewer words and smaller numbers but it may well still extend to a dozen pages. 

FLAT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES

It is possible for the Revenue to set aside their requirement for a tax return.
